...supporting local trades...

Can we help you and can you help us?

When we launched Torbay Trades it was at the start of the recession. We did it as a free service to help local trades people, just like you, to get noticed and we now have over 200 local business listings. Never did we think this recession would go on for as long as this, but it has.

In the last four years the internet has become more important than ever when it comes to getting noticed and winning more business. We have kept ahead of the game and helped many businesses here and across the UK with their online marketing.

How things have changed in four years.

  • YouTube is the second biggest search engine on the planet after Google
  • Google owns YouTube
  • Having a video on your website improves the chances of people finding you by a factor of 53
  • More people now use mobile devices – smartphones and iPads to search for you

  • Local search is now more important than ever.

How we responded

  • In the last year we have created English Riviera TV to promote tourism in Torbay (over 70.000 viewers since February 2012) See Web Video Devon for more info on using video online
  • We have created Tourism 2020 to support tourism in Torbay
  • We built Scan and Go to help businesses reach the mobile generation. (Our QR code video campaigns can be found in high street stores across the UK)
  • Oh by the way unlike other local businesses we believe in trying to help the local economy by giving something back- hence Torbay Trades

Bottom line: Can we help you?

We all know that standard line “I get all of my business by word of mouth”. To a certain extent that’s still true and you can’t beat a good personal recommendation. However the world has changed a lot in the last four years. You know this as well as I do. You will go online and check out a company you are thinking of doing business with and it’s no longer about just the price. Do you like the look of that business? Do you trust the person to do the work? You will make a decision based on what you see online.

So take a long critical look at your website and marketing material and ask yourself those questions. If you can honestly answer yes that’s great. If you can’t it might be worth asking for a second opinion.

We don’t have a magic wand but we have shown over the last four years we are people that build solutions that work and are joined up in how they work for business...

If you would like a second opinion drop us a line here - a conversation costs nothing and you will walk away with food for thought.

Lets hope the sun comes out sometime soon!
